Being Safe Can Be Fun
Children all over the UK & Eire need to learn to be safer and our unique approach
helps get the message over to children in a fun, but informative way.
The safety activities include topics such as:
Stranger Danger
Stranger Danger
A stranger is anyone that you don’t know well.
Never talk to, or go anywhere with strangers.
If a stranger comes up to you or tries to hang around, get away and tell an adult that you trust what happened. If you are in danger, you can call the emergency services on 999.
Vandalism and Crime Prevention
Vandalism and Crime Prevention
Vandalism is any kind of damage done on purpose
for no good reason.
Vandalism is a crime.
Don’t try to deal with vandals yourself, tell an adult.
Racism and Bullying
Racism and Bullying
Name calling and nasty comments are a form of bullying. It is wrong to call people names because of their colour or race, this is racism.
Don’t be a bully! Don’t be a racist!
If you hear people saying racist things or telling racist jokes don’t join in. If you find that you or someone else is being ganged up on, get help, straight away. Don’t keep it to yourself.
Drugs
Drugs
All medicines are drugs but not all drugs are medicines.
Cigarettes contain the drug nicotine which will harm you. Almost 2000 people die each week in Britain of diseases linked to smoking. Inhaling solvents or using aerosols can kill.
Road Safety
Road Safety
When crossing the road always use the green cross code. When out at night always wear bright clothing.
Be safe be seen!
Never ride your bike without a protective helmet. Never carry any passengers on your cycle.
Green Cross Code
Green Cross Code
First find a safe place to cross. Stand on the pavement a little way back from the kerb. Look around for traffic coming. Let is pass, look all around again. When the road is clear walk straight across. Keep looking and listening for traffic as you cross.
The activities have all been put together through consultation with educationalists
across the UK, so that we have a game that covers all the relevant topics to
children at Key Stage 2 level.
Play Safe – Stay Safe
Our ultimate aim is to provide safety books, leaflets, posters and games free of charge
to every primary school in the country, whilst also forging important links
between schools and businesses.
Our safety packs have been professionally designed to capture children’s
imagination in a way that they find fun and as such they have proved particularly
effective in helping children with learning difficulties. By taking this unique
approach, we can be confident that we are helping children to enjoy their play
whilst observing essential safety guidelines.
